N.L. Debut

April 19, 1890 – The Brooklyn “Bridegrooms” play their first game as members of the National League. Brooklyn jumped out to a 9-0 lead, but eventually lost 15-9 against the Boston Beaneaters at the Sound End Grounds in Boston. Outfielder Thomas “Oyster” Burns led Brooklyn with three hits.
